New publication in the Journal of Materials Chemistry family

Delighted to share a new publication in Journal of Materials Chemistry C entitled Thionated PDI supramolecular polymers: controlling aggregation mechanisms, morphology and function discussing the effects on self-assembly of heteroatom substitution in supramolecular polymer systems.

These findings are based on work accomplished during Faul group members Henry E. Symons‘ and Maximillian J. L. Hagemann‘s PhD studies. Congratulations to all authors involved.

Viva and conference success

Many congratulations to Dr Veronica Del Angel Hernandez who passed her PhD viva last week. We wish her continued success in her postdoctoral research associate position within the Cooper Group at the University of Liverpool.

Further celebrations are in order for group members Neha Yadav and Basiram Narzary. Both are both recipients of prizes at last week’s GWPore conference for contributing with a talk on polymer formation using cyclic carbonates from CO2 and a poster discussing CO2 capture and conversion using microporous materials (see below), respectively.

Charl speaking in Shanghai

Charl was invited to deliver a keynote lecture at the 10th International Conference on Advanced Fibers and Polymer Materials (ICAFPM 2021), held at Donghua University, Shanghai, China. As travel is still restricted due to COVID-19, Charl Zoomed over to Shanghai to deliver his lecture on N-containing conjugated microporous polymers early Monday morning! He also joined the State Key Laboratory’s International Advisory Board meeting on Tuesday!

It was also an opportunity to congratulate Donghua University on it’s 70th birthday, and celebrate the 10th edition of the ICAFPM conference series.
