Paper (with Yaozu and Arne) accepted … and published!

A paper, with Yaozu (and his team at Donghua), Arne Thomas (in Berlin) and Charl on nitrogen-rich conjugated microporous polymers has now appeared in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces.

In this paper we explore the use of nitrogen-rich conjugated microporous polymers (prepared using an oxidative cross-linking approach) in a variety of applications, including carbon dioxide uptake (with high selectivity over nitrogen) and energy storage.

Lots of new people joining the group!

We have had a influx of a large number of new group members – 4 new undergraduate project students, 2 BCFN short-term students Andrea and Marco, as well as Veronica from Mexico as a new PhD student in the group! Welcome to everyone!

Emily, Jack, Robert and Alex!

This informal group photo was taken when celebrating Charl’s birthday recently!

Mini symposium with Andy Weller, Mike Inkpen … and Djen!

We had the pleasure of hosting a number of visiting academics from other universities at the School of Chemistry, including Professor Andy Weller (Oxford) and Dr Mike Inkpen (Columbia/Rennes).  As usual we had a mini symposium, which provided an afternoon of exciting science.  Djen spoke as well, and gave a great talk on some of his recent results on dielectric actuators!
