Robert Wilson–Kovacs joined the Faul group in September 2017 as part of his MSci project, investigating the behaviour of pH responsive hydrogels and how they can be designed to create complex actuators. Inspired by his experiment design project the previous year on the use of weak polyelectrolytes to control flocculation and his research into creating functionalised, pH responsive nanoscale membranes, Robert hopes to pursue research into applying nanoscale phenomena to engineer various mechanical and catalytic systems.
