Many congratulations to Dr Veronica Del Angel Hernandez who passed her PhD viva last week. We wish her continued success in her postdoctoral research associate position within the Cooper Group at the University of Liverpool.
Further celebrations are in order for group members Neha Yadav and Basiram Narzary. Both are both recipients of prizes at last week’s GWPore conference for contributing with a talk on polymer formation using cyclic carbonates from CO2 and a poster discussing CO2 capture and conversion using microporous materials (see below), respectively.
Ben had his viva at the end of last week, and performed exceptionally well! A perfect way to end his PhD, and a very good reason to end the week on a high note with cake, fizz and celebrations! Here Ben is celebrating with Simon Hall (internal examiner), Charl and Uwe Bunz (external examiner). More photos of the celebrations to follow! Well done Ben!
Carl had passed his viva today, and we can now finally call him Dr Hu! Well done Carl! His external examiner was Prof. Bo Laursen, from the University of Copenhagen, and internal was Dr George Whittell.
Celebrations already started, and will continue later in the day! Congratulations!
Esther successfully defended her MSc thesis earlier this week. She did a great job, and both the examiners (Dr George Whittell, as internal, and Dr Louis Adriaenssens from the University of Lincoln) were very impressed with her performance! With the viva behind her, Esther is ready to join the BCFN as PhD student in September.
Of course we celebrated afterwards! Well done Esther!
