Lots of new people joining the group!

We have had a influx of a large number of new group members – 4 new undergraduate project students, 2 BCFN short-term students Andrea and Marco, as well as Veronica from Mexico as a new PhD student in the group! Welcome to everyone!

Emily, Jack, Robert and Alex!

Welcoming new international students at BISC!

The group helped, as usual, to make new international students feel welcome and at home in Bristol – by cooking an evening meal for them at BISC (Bristol International Student Centre)!  This year we enjoyed using the new extension at BISC, and served 160 meals (choice of 5 mains, and two puddings, with salad, of course) with great ease!

Well done to the cooking team! Thanks also to Jack, who spent several summers in the lab, who came long to help as well!

New £300m Temple Quarter Campus development consultation launched

The University of Bristol launched the consultation phase of the proposed new £300m development close to Temple Meads train station – the new Temple Quarter Campus.

The development will transform the derelict post office sorting building and part of Arena Island into an open campus that will be part of the community, help to regenerate the area and benefit the whole city.

The UoB is working with communities, businesses and the council to shape future plans, which include landmark buildings for teaching, learning and collaboration, with a focus on future digital technologies. Part of the development includes a new student village and expanding the UoB’s successful enterprise hub, Engine Shed.

Consultation runs from 19 June 2017 until 21 July 2017.
