If you are a PhD student in China, and interested to spend up to a year in my laboratories, then please explore the following opportunity – a call for PhD placement applications is currently open!
This joint call between the British Council and the CSC provides opportunities for PhD students, working in the area of “energy” to apply for support (airfare, living allowance and consumables) for visits between 3 and 12 months! Please look at the call documents here from the CSC, and, in addition, also from the British Council.
Please contact Prof Charl Faul by email with your CV as soon as possible, as the call is now open, and the deadline for submission is the 5th of September!
Wei, who spent a year in the FRG as CSC visitor, recently graduated from the Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China! She sent a photo taken after receiving her degree – looking very smart! Well done, Dr Wei!
The University of Bristol has just finalised a new agreement with the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for 20 PhD students per year for the next 5 years. This is great news, and Bristol will benefit greatly from this new initiative!
Charl is currently in Beijing talking to prospective CSC PhD candidates at the International Graduate Scholarship Fair of the CSC.
Wei, a China Scholarship Council exchange student, will spend one year in Bristol. She follows in the footsteps of Jiangtao (Feng), also from the laboratories of prof Yan, who spent a year in Bristol in 2011.
Close interaction and collaboration already exists between the Yan and Faul groups, with a number of publications generated in the area of oligo(aniline)-based nanomaterials (and more to come soon!). Welcome to Bristol!
