7 FRG members at Elecmol ’12 in Grenoble, France

Seven group members (Feli, Saravanan, Angel, Alex, James, Ben and Charl) are attending Elecmol ’12 in Grenoble, France (with 6 posters and 1 oral presentation!).  This exciting event, co-organised by our close collaborator Dr Patrice Rannou, has been a very good way of experiencing good science (and some good food!).

Minatec

The event is held at Minatec’s conference facility in Grenoble.

Kyoto!

Charl, Merv, Peng and David arrived in Kyoto over the weekend before heading off to the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba. On Sunday they had a chance to walk around some of Koyoto’s exquisite temples and very interesting shopping areas, and enjoy some fantastic Japanese food! Certainly worth another visit to this historical city!

FRG members volunteer at Bisc

A number of members from the FRG helped Charl (volunteer head chef at the Bristol International Student Centre, BISC) to prepare meals for 90 people on Saturday!

Fantastic team work … and really nice hair nets! And at the end of the evening we enjoyed some of our own food, and a well-deserved break with the rest of the Bisc team!

Chinwe leaving Bristol…

Chinwe, who has just finished her thesis and had her viva, is getting ready to leave Bristol and head back to Nigeria.  We had the chance to celebrate with her, while saying goodbye at the same time … and of course wishing her all the best in settling in and with the expected growth of her family!
