Xiaoyu joined the Faul group in May 2017 as an MSc postgraduate student in the BCFN. He achieved his bachelor’s degree in Materials Physics at China University of Petroleum. His research focuses on developing energy transforming and storage materials, such as dye sensitised solar cells and supercapacitors. Since joining the BCFN, Xiaoyu has worked on two THETA projects: one on nanoantenna arrays in Engineering and one on electroactive materials here in the Faul group in Chemistry. His extended project, phosphonium-based electroactive amphiphiles, will be conducted in the Faul group.
