Jay (Jie) was born in Zhangzhou city, Fujian province in China. In 2013, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Xi’an JiaoTong University, at which point he continued with further graduate studies. He is currently a PhD student, working under the supervision of Prof. Yan Wei. His research mainly focuses on the design and green synthesis of polythiophene/metal oxides composites in aqueous medium and the investigation of the adsorption mechanisms and selective adsorption mechanisms of polymers, metal oxides and their composites for the heavy metal ion adsorption. He joined the Faul Research Group in September 2017 as a visiting student under the China Scholarship Council program.
He will be working on the design and synthesis of conjugated microporous polymer for heavy metal ion adsorption. Besides science, he also likes traveling and playing guitar, and he will appreciate it if others can have a beer with him!
