Angel was born in Distrito Federal, Mexico. He completed his Bachelor and Master degree in Chemistry at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). During his undergraduate years he did a research project in nanoparticles with magnetic properties, synthesising maghemite NPs using a sonochemical method in prescence of grenetin and egg white. He also worked with Dr. Jose Reyes Gasga in the field of hydroxyapatites at the Physics Institute at UNAM, in the summer of 2009.

He started his Ph.D. in October 2010 supervised by Dr. Charl Faul on the topic of Self-Healing Electroactive Supramolecular Polymers.

Angel is very interested in Latin American music and literature. He loves traveling, walking and photography.
